Week 14th – 20th April 2024

1. DAY of CHARITY is on Sunday 14th April.  The objective of this day is to bring to the notice of Christians in Malta the charitable services offered by the Church to those in need. The collection during masses on Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th April will be the yearly donation towards these entities, so that they can continue to offer their services.  Please be generous.

2. Photos of Fr Blake’s Farewell:  Last week, we celebrated thanksgiving mass for Fr Blake’s seven years of service in our parish.  Those who would like to order copies of the photos taken during mass and the reception may contact Charlot- Photo &Video (Address: 17, Masabielle Street, San Ġwann, mob: 9947 4704; opening hours: Mon-Fri 4.30pm-7:00pm, preferably call before going)

3. Beginning of Fr Brian Gialanzzé’s ministry: as from next Monday 15th April, Fr Brian will be starting his ministry as parish priest of our parish. We pray for him and encourage everyone to welcome him in our community and groups. 

4. Eucharistic Week: From Monday 22nd till Sunday 28th April there will be a Eucharistic Week around Malta on the occasion of the blessing of a chapel dedicated to Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration in Malta. You can find the detailed program on the noticeboards.

5. Flimkien: There are copies of the Flimkien magazine near the Church door. We urge you to take a copy home.

6. Deacon and Presbyterial Ordinations:  Our parish has been blessed with new ordinations in the deaconry and priesthood.  On Saturday 13th April, two new deacons will be ordained, one of whom is Matthew Sammut from the Pembroke parish, who carried out his formative experience in our parish as a seminarian.  On Saturday 20th April at 9.30am, in St John’s Co-Cathedral, three priests will be ordained, among them Fr Rob Rizzo SJ, who was a member of this parish for several years and had attended catechism lessons here.  Let us pray for them and for more vocations.
