Week 20 – 26 November 2022

1. Sunday, 27 th November, marks the start of Advent, four weeks of preparation for
Christmas. Next Sunday, leaflets will be by the Church doors.  


2. On Thursday, 24 th November at 6.30 pm, in St John’s Co-Cathedral, the Archbishop
will lead a concelebration of thanks to God, marking the 10 th anniversary of the start of his
mission as bishop of Malta.


3. On Friday 25th November, during the 6.30pm mass the Girl Guides of the Northern
district will be present for mass.


4. On Sunday the 27th November, a bake sale in aid of id-Dar tal-Providenza will be
held in front of the church from 9.45am-1pm


5. Programme for Advent
a) On Sunday 11 th December, a prayer meeting/retreat will be held for children
attending the 9.45 am mass (9.45-12.00).
b) On Tuesday, 13 th December (public holiday), a prayer retreat for everyone will be
held in the church between 9-11 am. Those interested are to contact the persons
responsible listed on the posters. Child care will be provided.
c) From 16 to 22 December, the Christmas Novena in the Church, from 7-7.20 pm.


6. Programme for the Feast of Mary Immaculate
a) On Monday, 5 th December:
5.15m: Marian Celebration for the catechism children in the church.
6.30pm: Mass, with the investiture of new Altar Boys.
b) Tuesday 6 th December: The Children’s Feast
10.00 am Presentation of babies to Mary
5.50pm Procession for children and their families around the church, followed by Mass.
c) Wednesday, 7 th December: Feast for Young People: 6.30pm: Mass and Adoration
d) Thursday, 8 th December: Feast Day
10am: the Mass for the Elderly, with the Sacrament of ….; afterwards, refreshments in the
Hall beneath the church.
6.30pm: Solemn Mass, presided by H.E. Mons George Frendo, Emeritus Bishop of Tirana.
